Deadline July 20 Birdsacre is sponsoring a special photo contest to honor the memory and passion of Cordelia J. Stanwood, leading ornithologist and wildlife photograper who spent the final 54 years of her life in Ellsworth at what is now known as Birdsacre, Stanwood Wildlife Sanctuary. *Who can enter? All photographers-children, adults, and professionals. *What kind of photos? Birds, flowers, trees, other wildlife, Cordelia's special places - basically anything that you find anywhere on the Sanctuary's 220 acre property. Photos may be black & white or color. *What size should the pictures be? Not larger than 8x10. *Special instructions: Each entry must have the following information carefully printed or typed on a 3x5 index card or plain piece of paper, taped to the backside of the photo: full name, age, complete mailing address, & phone # (email address if available) *Cost: Suggested donation per entry is $5 or 3 for $10. All proceeds will be given to Birdsacre. *Where to take entries: All entries can be delivered or mailed to: The Image Gazer, 2 State Street, Ellsworth, ME 04605 or they can dropped off at the Birdsacre Nature Center. DEADLINE: All entries must be received no later than July 20th! *What is the PRIZE? One photo will be selected to create a special "Birdsacre" postcard that will available in the Nature Center/Gift Shop at Birdsacre no later than next summer. The winner will be recognized at the annual celebration of Cordelia's birthday being held this year at Birdsacre on July 31st and all entries will be on display at the Nature Center for the remainder of the summer season.
