Birdsacre Wish List

Birdsacre volunteers can only eat so many eggs! But egg cartons are a favorite engagement element among our Avian Ambassadors! Below is a list of items that really help with the day-to-day activities at the sanctuary.

Cleanliness: If you would let a toddler you love play with the item - and we all know most toddlers like to taste everything! - then it is sufficiently clean for our Ambassadors! Please contact us if you have any questions about the items needed.

Where to Leave Item(s): You can leave your items in bin in the Nature Center from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm daily or in the bin by the front door of the Nature Center after hours.

The Avian Ambassadors and Birdsacre Team are grateful to you for sharing!

Every-day items:

  • Cardboard egg cartons - clean, without dried egg or pieces of shell.

  • Cardboard tubes - paper-towel tubes or wrapping-paper tubes. No toilet-paper tubes, please!

  • Small cardboard gift boxes - minimum side 3” and maximum side 8.”

  • Plant-based, scent-free dish detergent (like Nature’s Choice or Seventh Generation).

  • Paper towels - always of use!

Perches and Platforms

  • 1/4 inch Manila rope - like this, for wrapping perches.

  • 3/8 inch Manila rope - like this, for wrapping perches.

  • Green 3/4” long-leaf artificial turf - like this, to allow soft footing on perches and platforms.

Thank you to the donors who provided heated dishes, warming pads, and infrared bulbs for our Avian Ambassadors!

The Ambassadors are grateful for your support and look forward to being well-prepared for chilly fall and winter temperatures!
